change; it's nice.

So I should be studying for a Geriatrics test I have in the morning (now I can take care of mom and dad, haha), but I was bored and decided my page needed a little change. As you know the saying, "be the change you want to see in the world" I guess this as close as I will get for now.
Last week oncology was BRUTAL, but ironically it was again one of my better scores. It is no lie that the less prepared I feel for an exam the better my score ends up being, meanwhile about 1/3 of the class failed. So I should do REALLY well tomorrow ;)
Friday my preceptor again was on vacation so I went to Mt View ER, where I worked for 5 years. It was going to be so good because there's only one Dr, and never any students (other than nurses) and they get a lot of fun stuff there....until I'm there. We literally saw 4 patients before 1200, and 2 of them were 'frequent flyer' migraine patients. BUMMER. Of course the staff was happy it was so slow. The Dr I was with is really cool with patients and he felt bad and tried to teach me, but then gave up and went into his break room for awhile because there was nothing to do. What was nice was an there were so many of the people I really like from there and haven't seen in so long were working, so there were about 8 of us sitting around and talking most of the day so that was fun. It was nice to see everyone again, but I must admit I do not miss being the lowest person on the totem pole there. I ended up staying til 6 which is longer than what I'm normally at my friday clinic (I had thought I'd stay til 2 or 3, but since there were no pts I hung out to wait for them); I could have stayed at home and slept! Needless to say they all offered for me to stay there all evening, and come back saturday night, and sunday night (...since that's when it's really busy, and my 'luck' caused no one to want to come in to the ER; it's a sad day in Payson when even the regular drug-seekers/overdosers don't want to come in).
Tomorrow is the LAST LAST class; fo rizzle! I decided I'm going to clean or cook in the next 2 weeks I have before rotations start. I'll let you know how that goes (yes, I will only do one or the other).
Don't get jealous that I will be going to a rodeo this week!
